GB3HV temporarily closed down!
Due to a new, more aggresively commercial minded site owner increasing the site rent to an unsustainable level for club funds, it was unanimously decided to vacate the site at the end of our current agreement which expired on Saturday 11th October 2008.
So it was a sad day when G8LES, G8ADM, G8GTZ, G8MNY, G1HBD, G6IGA and M0SAT carried out the removal of the repeater from site which had been the home of GB3HV for the past 16 years.
The repeater has been moved to G8LES QTH for tempo
rary
storage while negotiations continue to rehome GB3HV on a nearby location in or
around the High Wycombe area. Initial discussions have also been taking place
with the "Prime User" for the band (the CAA) to facilitate the move. Further
information will be published here as soon as further activity takes place.
Streaming will continue on the BATC.TV web site from G8ADM QTH and the
information on there will also be updated as the situation changes.
Activity & club nights
Activity & club nights will continue to maintain continuity in the group. Meetings have been changed to allow members to discuss this unusual situation and hope to return to normal with the planned talks that were cancelled being moved into the 2009 schedule. Please remember to support the team by coming on the radio or stream text page on Wednesday nights. It remains the focal point for the club and we welcome old and new members and those just interested.
We look forward to hearing and better still seeing you on the air soon. - The HCATV 2009 committee
